Algeria: Double playmaker, Amoura ends in tears! (Video)

With two assists against Zambia, Mohamed Amoura was once again one of the key players for the Greens. Despite his significant influence, the Algerian forward finished the match very emotional.

Mohamed Amoura once again made an impact in the Algerian team’s play. In Brahim Hemdani's first match, the OGC Nice forward provided two assists in the victory of the Greens against Zambia (3-1), although he may regret several clear chances that could have allowed him to find the back of the net himself.

From the 2nd minute, Amoura perfectly set up Jaouen Hadjam for the opening goal. After Fashion Sakala equalized in the second half, the number 11 made a difference again by assisting Ibrahim Maza, who restored Algeria's lead in the 67th minute. Anis Hadj Moussa then definitively secured the victory for the Greens.

Despite a performance that places him among the most prominent players of the match, Amoura appeared very affected at the final whistle. Standing and in tears, he was surrounded and comforted by several of his teammates. This frustration was likely related to his lack of success in front of goal, having created several interesting situations. With this match, Amoura now has 48 international caps and 19 goals, while adding two new assists to his tally.

The forward will need to quickly turn the page as Algeria will travel to Burundi on September 29 for the second round of the CAN 2027 qualifiers. After being a double assister in Tizi Ouzou, Amoura will try this time to find the back of the net.
