CAN 2027: Result of Togo - Burundi and victory of Neghiz.

After this first day of the CAN 2027 qualifiers, here is an overview of the results recorded by Algeria's future opponents.

The first day of the CAN 2027 qualifiers has already provided several insights across the continent, before the last two matches of Group D. Among the favorites, Ivory Coast perfectly launched its campaign by dominating Ghana (2-0), while Cameroon won 3-1 against Comoros. The DR Congo also secured the essentials against Equatorial Guinea (2-0).

Tunisia, on the other hand, let two points slip at home. The Eagles of Carthage were held to a draw by Uganda (1-1) in Radès, a frustrating result for their entry into Group H. In Group A, Niger, led by Nabil Neghiz, successfully started their campaign by beating Lesotho 2-1 in Accra. The Nigeriens thus took three valuable points right from their first outing.

Morocco also made its presence felt. The Atlas Lions dominated Gabon 2-0 thanks to Noussair Mazraoui and Soufiane Rahimi, immediately taking the lead in their group due to a better goal difference than Niger.

In Algeria's group, the Greens defeated Zambia 3-1 in Tizi Ouzou and occupy the top spot. Togo follows with three points after its 1-0 victory against Burundi. Zambia and Burundi are at the bottom before a second day that will see Algeria travel to Bujumbura.
