CdM 2026: the Consulate of San Francisco is calling for supporters!
As the crucial match between Algeria and Jordan approaches, scheduled to take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara as part of the second day of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, the Algerian authorities have made it clear that they want to send a message to the many supporters expected in California.
The Algerian Consulate General in San Francisco has indeed launched a large awareness campaign aimed at the fans of the Greens who will travel to support Vladimir Petkovic's men. In a statement, the diplomatic institution invites supporters to encourage their team "with passion, but also with responsibility."
At the heart of this reminder are the strict rules regarding the use of pyrotechnic products. Flares, firecrackers, fireworks, and smoke bombs are strictly prohibited, both inside the stadiums and in the fan zones and public spaces related to the event. This ban is particularly important in California, a region regularly faced with high temperatures and fire risks.
The Consulate emphasizes that any violation of this regulation could lead to severe consequences. Offenders may face significant fines, immediate expulsion from the sports venues, and even legal action that could result in prison sentences depending on the severity of the offenses. American authorities indeed enforce a zero-tolerance policy regarding this type of behavior.
As the match against Jordan is considered crucial in the race for qualification for the round of 16, consular officials hope to see the Algerian community stand out for its civic-mindedness and fair play.
"The behavior of each person reflects the image of our country," the statement reminds, inviting supporters to make this football celebration a positive showcase for Algeria. A simple yet strong message: support the Fennecs passionately while respecting the laws of the host country.
