Hadjam: "There are still things to improve" (video)

After the success against Zambia (3-1), Jaouen Hadjam shared his impressions on this first outing of the Greens in the qualifiers for the 2027 AFCON. The Algerian full-back appreciated the home victory while acknowledging that the team still has room for improvement, particularly in both areas of play.

Algeria perfectly launched its qualifying campaign by winning against Zambia on Friday night in Tizi-Ouzou. An important success for Brahim Hemdani's men, allowing them to start this new adventure with three points.

For Jaouen Hadjam, who scored the first Algerian goal, the main thing was also to start with a victory in front of the Algerian public. "It was a good match. Winning at home feels good. The player also emphasized the importance of public support, particularly present in Tizi-Ouzou to accompany the Greens during this first match. For him, this enthusiasm is a constant when the national team plays on home soil.

"At home, everywhere in Algeria, there is always a good atmosphere," he highlighted.

Hadjam also discussed the first weeks of work with Brahim Hemdani. The new coach is particularly looking to establish a climate of trust within the group and to allow the players to approach these qualifiers in the best conditions.

"The new coach is always trying to build our confidence and to properly launch these qualifiers," explained the Algerian international.

Finally, the defender looked ahead to the next match in Burundi. A trip that could present several difficulties, but the Greens intend to prepare seriously for it.

"The next trip to Burundi will be complicated, but we will work hard this week for this appointment," concluded Hadjam.
