CdM 2026: Chaïbi, "We need to bring more intensity against Jordan" (video)
As the match against Jordan approaches, which is part of the second day of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, Farès Chaïbi has expressed his determination to see the national team react after the setback suffered during their debut against Argentina.
Asked in the mixed zone, the Algerian attacking midfielder emphasized the need for the Greens to show a completely different face in this important match. According to him, Algeria will have to raise its level of commitment to hope for a positive result.
"Against Jordan, we need to bring more intensity. We will try to lead the match and impose our game," said the player, highlighting his team's desire to take control of the match rather than just react to events.
However, Chaïbi refused to underestimate the opponent. For him, the World Cup leaves no room for overconfidence, regardless of the status of the teams involved.
"In the World Cup, there are no small teams. Every match is difficult. We can see that great nations drop points against teams that are supposed to be inferior. But after our first match against Argentina, we are really eager to succeed in this match," he explained.
The Algerian player also mentioned the group's mindset after the opening defeat. Despite the disappointment, he assures that the players quickly turned the page to prepare for the rest of the competition.
"We are all professionals. When we lose a match and are disappointed, we have to get back to work to be better in the next match," he concluded.
