Market: Amine Gouiri has made a decision about his future in Marseille.
As Olympique de Marseille experiences a tumultuous summer in the transfer market, Amine Gouiri seems to have a clear idea regarding his future. Despite the interest he is attracting and the uncertainties surrounding the Marseille squad, the Algerian forward wishes to continue his adventure on the Canebière this season.
Arriving in Marseille with great ambitions, Gouiri would not be in favor of a departure this summer. According to La Minute OM, a specialized outlet covering the Marseille club, the Algerian international feels good within the Phocaean club and particularly wishes to continue progressing in the new project set up by Bruno Genesio. The 26-year-old forward wants to take advantage of the preparation to convince his new coach and establish himself permanently in the offensive sector.
This desire comes at a time when his future had recently raised several questions. Asked in recent weeks, Gouiri had been cautious, simply reminding that he is still under contract with OM and focused on his preparation. His discourse now takes on another dimension, with a clear intention to stay and continue his journey in Marseille.
The market, however, remains attentive to his situation. FC Sevilla had notably inquired about the former Nice player to assess the conditions for a potential transfer. But the Spanish club would have quickly been put off by the Marseille demands. OM is said to have set the price for their forward around 30 million euros, an amount that would have led the Andalusians not to pursue further.
Other teams, particularly in Italy, are also reportedly monitoring the situation. Napoli, AC Milan, and Como have shown interest in Gouiri's profile.
But for now, the trend is clear: the Algerian wants to stay. Under contract with Marseille until 2029 and having scored eight goals and provided three assists in 22 Ligue 1 matches last season, Gouiri now intends to turn the page on speculation and focus on a new season in the Olympian colors.
