Transfer market: Dorval finalizes his transfer!
It's now official: Mehdi Dorval is changing clubs. Just a few hours after the first reports emerged announcing interest from Catanzaro, the Algerian full-back has officially signed with the Italian club from SSC Bari. A quickly concluded operation that opens a new chapter in the young player's career.
According to information revealed this Tuesday by transfer specialist Nico Schira, Dorval joins Catanzaro for a transfer fee estimated at 1 million euros. The Algerian defender has signed a contract that ties him to his new team until June 2029, reflecting the confidence the Calabrian management has in his potential and development.
This arrival also marks the reunion between Mehdi Dorval and Ciro Polito. The sporting director of Catanzaro knows the player particularly well as he had contributed to his recruitment at Bari when he was already holding the same position at the Apulian club. Convinced by his qualities, Polito has decided to bet on the Algerian full-back once again.
For Dorval, this transfer represents an important new step in his career. Arriving at Bari after playing notably at Cerignola and Fasano, the player had gradually managed to carve out a place for himself in Italian football. His performances have also allowed him to attract attention and become an option in the choices of the Algerian national team.
While several options abroad had recently been mentioned, particularly in Ligue 1, the player ultimately chose to continue his adventure in Italy. With Catanzaro, which will officially present its new recruit soon, Dorval will now have the opportunity to confirm the promises seen in recent seasons.
