Market: A French giant rushes for Adem Zorgane.
Olympique de Marseille is taking action for Adem Zorgane. After the elimination of Union Saint-Gilloise in the preliminary round of the Champions League, the Algerian international midfielder finds himself at the center of discussions regarding a potential departure during this summer transfer window.
According to the latest information reported by Belgian transfer specialist Pol Prins, OM has reactivated the lead towards Zorgane. This interest is notably linked to Bruno Genesio, the new Marseille coach, who already knows the 26-year-old player very well. The French coach had indeed wanted to recruit him when he was still on the bench at LOSC.
The Marseille lead is gaining momentum after the failure of Union Saint-Gilloise in their quest for Champions League qualification. This elimination notably deprives Zorgane of an important objective that had contributed to his decision to join the Belgian club in 2025.
Now, the player would be open to the idea of joining Marseille, despite the absence of the Champions League within the Olympian project. His entourage would also be pushing for a departure, as several clubs had already expressed their interest in recent months.
However, the deal remains contingent on the demands of Union Saint-Gilloise. The Belgian club does not wish to let their midfielder go at any price and has set their asking price around 15 million euros. This amount would not necessarily pose an obstacle for OM, provided that the player's salary demands remain compatible with the club's policy.
Arriving at Union Saint-Gilloise from Charleroi for around 4.3 million euros, Zorgane quickly established himself as an essential player. Last season, he played 51 matches with his club.
His profile, passing quality, and international experience now make him a serious target for Marseille. After the failure of the Yacine Titraoui lead, OM could therefore accelerate to secure the services of the Algerian midfielder before the transfer window closes.
