UEFA Champions League: Zedadka assists and is one round away from a historic qualification! (video)
The right-back from Algeria, Akim Zedadka, participated in his club's qualification for the Champions League playoffs.
Akim Zedadka, 31 years old, who has one cap with the national team in 2022 against Iran under the management of Djamel Belmadi, is close to competing in the final phase of the Champions League 2026/2027 with FK Sabah.
He is the champion of Azerbaijan with the club he joined last summer alongside another Algerian, Younes Lechaab, to reunite with Zinnedine Ould Khaled. They achieved a perfect run in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
They first eliminated the Welsh team The New Saints, then the Finnish team KuPS, and finally the Danish team Aarhus GF. After losing 2-1 in the first leg, they won 4-0 in the return match against the latter opponent, and Zedadka assisted on the last goal by intercepting a high ball.
Only one last playoff round remains for FK Sabah to achieve a historic qualification for the final phase of the Champions League, just as FK Qarabag did a few seasons ago with Karim Benzia.
